White Christmas Margarita

This time of year, the snow is falling fast . Why not have a drink to match the scenery ? This is the White Christmas Margarita.

So, if you have seen our recipes on the original Margarita and the Black Magic Margarita , you will know just how great they can be when made well balanced. Also, Margaritas are a cocktail that have been changed and altered so much over the years resulting in a lot of interesting and tasty variants. In this case we have a festive themed Margarita with all the magic of Christmas.

The addition of Coconut Milk adds an aspect of creaminess to the drink as well as creating the snow white look that makes the drink so visually appealing. As well appose to a traditional Margarita, this one is made in a blender which helps give it a slight frosty but smooth texture. The overall flavour is the slightly sour but slightly sweet one you are used to if you have had a Margarita before but with a change in texture and a bit of a creamy taste.

No doubt this will be a great addition to what will eventually be a long list of Margarita recipes here on the site. So, try it out and see how it stacks up in your opinion to the other variants. Here is how it is made.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. (60ml) Tequila

  • ¾ oz. (22.5ml) Cointreau or Triple Sec

  • ¾ oz. (22.5ml) Agave Nectar

  • 1 oz. (30ml) Lime Juice

  • 2 oz. (60ml) Coconut Milk

Garnish : Cranberries and a Lime wedge

Preparation

  1. Rim a Margarita or lowball glass with sugar.

  2. In a blender container add ice and all ingredients.

  3. Blend well till you get a smooth consistency.

  4. Pour into glass and garnish with Cranberries and a Lime wedge.

Further Information

  • It is said that you can eat Raw Cranberries despite the packaging saying otherwise, however they are very high in acidity and can cause irritation of your teeth and enamel damage. So maybe in the case of this drink just use them as a garnish.

  • As with other Margaritas the use of Agave Nectar is to balance out the sour flavour with some sweet. If you like a sour Margarita then feel free to remove this completely or add more if you prefer a more sweet one.
