The Strawberry & Mint Experience

Some flavours are just meant to be together and these to make for something special. This is The Strawberry & Mint experience.

Flavour pairing in drinks making is everything. Pick the right ingredients and flavour tones and you will probably end up with a delicious creation that will be well balanced as well as satisfying. A great example of flavours that taste amazing together are Strawberry and Mint, this recipe takes these two ingredients and gets the absolute best out of them.

The Strawberry & Mint Experience has a great base of Vodka and Orange juice which isn’t too in your face and doesn’t take anything away from the Strawberry and Mint elements which are the main focus of this cocktail. You will find a few Strawberry Liqueurs out there , but something simple like a Bols product works just fine in this case and is not too expensive. For the mint we suggest home making a Mint syrup , which sounds tedious but is a simple case of boiling and then simmering together some water m sugar and Mint leaves (look out for our article on syrup making in the future).

If you are in to creating your own original recipes and want an easy guide to which flavours pair well with others, there are plenty of ingredients charts out there or websites such as www.thespruceeats.com have great articles on cocktail flavour pairing we have found.

Learning what flavours work with others will help you take your mixology skills to the next level, and we highly recommend starting with this AHD original recipe !
