Often when using Pimm’s No.1 in a cocktail, you would probably be pairing it with lemonade as this is a widely popular combination which the fruity liqueur is famous for. But The Leading Role is a great example of how you can use this spirit in a different way and still end up with a flavourful drink .
The use of two kinds of Whiskey gives it a slight alcoholic bite and strength that is toned down just the right amount by the Agave Syrup and Pimm’s. The Pimm’s itself also adds its own personal fruity tone and makes this cocktail a lot less harsh on the tongue. It is a good drink to sip on but you could easily find yourself having more than one.
So if you are not a carbonated drink kind of person but want to experience the delicious flavours of Pimm’s, then we highly recommend The Leading Role.
Here is how it is made.
Ingredients
¾ oz. (22.5 ml) Irish Whiskey
¾ oz. (22.5 ml) Scotch Whiskey
½ oz. (15 ml) Pimms No.1
¾ oz. (22.5 ml) Lime juice
½ oz. (15 ml) Agave Syrup
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Garnish : Lime Wheel
Preparation
Add ice to a shaker.
Add in all ingredients and shake well till chilled.
Pour and strain into a Coupe glass.
Garnish with a Lime wheel.
