The Dark N Stormy is an all time classic cocktail that you will find on a lot of cocktail bar menus around the world. Its sweet spicy and zesty flavour makes it a very flavourful experience that many have grown to love. Of course when cocktails get this popular , it is only a matter of time before new inventive and exciting twists on them are made.
The Stormy Weather takes all the best flavours and elements of a Dark N Stormy and adds in the dry fruity nature of Red Wine. Red Wine can be a difficult ingredient to incorporate into a cocktail, but in this case it works so well with the Ginger Beer , Rum, Agave and Lime flavours that this drink has going for it. The result is a well balanced and easy going drink that is hard to put down.
It's easy to understand why the Dark N Stormy became so well recieved and if you are one of those that has a love for that cocktail , then this is one you will defiently want to add to your "To try" list.
Here is how it is made.
Stormy Weather Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. (45 ml) Dark Rum
1 1/2 oz.(45 ml) Red Wine
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Lime juice
1/4 oz. (7.5 ml) Agave Syrup
1 Dash of Aromatic Bitters
2 oz. (60 ml) Ginger Beer
Garnish : Lime wedge
Preparation
Add ice to a shaker with all ingredients except the Ginger Beer.
Shake well till chilled.
Strain and pour into a long glass over ice.
Top with Ginger Beer.
Garnsih with a Lime wedge.
