Blue as the gem itself, the Sapphire Alpine Martini makes great use of the very popular Bombay Sapphire Gin. Have a look at this sweet and stunning Gin cocktail.
I came across this recipe when looking through Gin drink ideas, it caught my attention specifically because of the use of Bombay Sapphire Gin. I feel like I should do recipes with specific brands as well as recipes that have some looseness on ingredients so you can get a good idea on just what extra that brand brings to a drink. The Sapphire Alpine caught me off guard slightly when I first tried it. On my first sip the flavour that stood out was the sweetness of the peach schnapps and I only picked up a mild after taste of the Bombay Sapphire along with the usual sharp burn of a white spirit. However, the more I got into the drink the more I could pick up the alcohol taste of the Gin but not so much that it was off putting or overpowered everything else the drink had going on.
I can see this being a drink a Gin drinker would love as it encompasses all the flavours of the Botanical from the Bombay Sapphire, as well as giving a sweet slightly fruity tone from the Peach schnapps and Blue curacao. So, if you are a Bombay Sapphire fan looking for a new drink to use your favourite Gin in or just a person looking to experiment with new ideas, I highly recommend the Sapphire Alpine. Here is how it is made.
