Rum Punch

Bright in colour and brilliant in flavour, Rum never tasted so good. This is the Rum Punch.

Rum cocktails are some of my favourite, there is something about them that is so easy and satisfying. Especially when you start including all kinds of flavourful fruit juices in Rum based drinks, the results can be everything you are looking for in a cocktail. The Rum Punch is exactly just that, the mixture of both light and dark Rum give you all the sharp kick you need from the alcohol side of this drink along with any additional spices or flavours depending on your choice of dark rum. This along side the spectrum of fruit juices ( the most stand out being Pineapple juice) make a perfect balance of sweet , sour and spirit, how a good cocktail should be.

Typically, a “punch” drink includes a variety of fruit or fruit juices and is served in large bowls. However, with alcoholic punch drinks you can serve them in large quantities in a bowl or in single servings in a glass. There is no specific glass required for this recipe, but I choose to go for a Hurricane glass as it has a larger volume than most glasses and it makes a drinks presentation that much better.

This is definitely a drink designed for a hot day on the beach or as I said for a party in a large bowl for guests and friends. So, if you need to scale up the ingredient quantities for your own purpose. This is how to make a Rum Punch.
