For those not familar with Pimms, it is a English brand of Gin-based fruit cup.It was first produced in 1823 by James Pimm and has been a popular choice to use in long drink during the summer across the UK since. The Pimms Cup cocktail is the most common form you will find Pimms used in as its combination of carbination and fruity flavours from both the Liqueur and fresh fruits used in it make for an incredible tasting experience.


Traditionally Lemonade is the mixer of choice for this recipe, but Ginger ale can also be used as a substitute. Fresh fruits are a staple in this recipe , ranging from apples, cucumber, orange, strawberry and mint to add spectrum of flavour to the Pimms Cup. There are so many other ways you can change up a Pimms Cup , so play about with different ingredients and see what suits you.


Making full pitchers of Pimms Cup is a common thing for people hosting parties and is so easy to do. This English favourite is on our Summer drink list for sure.


Here is how it is made.







Pimms Cup Ingredients


 
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) Pimms


  • 1/2 oz. (15 ml) Lemon juice


  • Ginger Ale or Lemonade (To top)


Garnish : Mint sprig, Cucumber slice and a Strawberry








Preparartion


 
  1. Add Pimms , Lemon juice and ice to a long glass.

  2. Top with Ginger Ale or Lemonade and stir briefly.

  3. Garnish with a Mint sprig, Cucumber slice and a Strawberry.
