New York Sour Mocktail

A Mocktail as big in flavour as the size of the city it is named after. This is the New York Sour.

Texture in a drink can have a big influence in whether you like it or not, the New York Sour is a classic example of a drink with a smooth frothy easy to drink texture that many people love. It falls under the category of “Sour drinks” which stem from the original recipe for a Whiskey Sour. Often these drinks are made with egg white to give it that smooth creamy texture we mentioned. The first mention of the Whiskey Sour goes back all the way to 1870, showing these forms of cocktails and drinks have come a long way.

The New York Sour also has an alcoholic variant which is basically a Whiskey Sour with full bodied red wine floated on top and there are many other versions of the original you can try out. But this non-alcoholic version is just as flavourful and includes the use of Assam Tea which gives it a great low key bitter flavour which works well with the usual sour tone of these drinks.

It is a very unique Mocktail when you break down its ingredients, but they all work well together and if you are feeling adventurous and want to try something new then this is a good one to try. Here is how it is made.
