Miami Vice

When Strawberry and Coconut come together, only good things can happen. This is the Miami Vice.

It has been a while since we have covered a blended drink. If you have seen our article on the Galaxy Cocktail , then you will know just how cool these sorts of drinks can look and taste. No doubt they are not for everyone, the texture is different than your normal shaken cocktail and there is usually extra dilution from amount of ice used and blending. But for those that enjoy a blended cocktail, this is one you will want to try.

The Miami Vice has some similarities to a Pina Colada with its use of Light Rum and Cream of Coconut, but this comes with an extra layer full of flavour. The separation of the layers creates a great contrast between the strawberry and coconut flavour which you can enjoy individually or together depending on what part you are drinking from. As well the layers create an eye catching aesthetic with and incredible red and white clash. The drinks frosty texture makes for a pleasant drinking experience and one of these on a hot day would be perfect.

It is the sort of drink that requires a little extra preparation than your normal shaken cocktail , but it is all worth it. With the amount of alcohol, it has in it and its incredible flavours it will defiantly become an instant favourite for many. Here is how it is made.
