The Melon Ball is a tropical fun tasty shooter that would fit in at any party.
From my experience, this is probably one of the smoothest and tasty Vodka based shooters you will try. The sweet tropical taste you get from the Midori combines perfectly with the alcohol bite of the Vodka and added flavour of Pineapple juice. It would not surprise me if you found yourself drinking too many of these as they go down so easily, and one never seems to be enough. Of course, we encourage responsible drinking here at At Home Drinking so be careful not to get too carried away when enjoying this shooter ! Here is how the Melon Ball is made.
Ingredients
1/4 oz. (8ml) Midori (Melon Liqueur)
1/4 oz (8ml) Pineapple juice
1/2 oz. (15ml) Vodka
Preparation
Fill a shaker with ice.
Add the ingredients to the shaker.
Shake for 10-15 seconds and strain the mixture into a shot glass.
Additional Information
As mentioned, this shooter can go down very smooth with not much of a burning alcohol taste to it, but this will all depend on the type of Vodka you use. My go to Vodka is usually Russian Standard or Absolute, however you can go with your preferred brand or something cleaner like New Amsterdam which may give your Melon Ball less of a burning alcohol flavour on the way down. To make this shooter more interesting you could maybe try making use of a flavoured Vodka, I would recommend sticking to citrus and tropical Vodkas as this will blend well with the recipe.
