Do not let the title fool you, the Detox shot will not help you lose weight. But it may just get your night off to a great start.
Every now and again I come across a shot or a shooter that’s flavour takes me by surprise. The Detox is defiantly one of those. With the top layer of this shot being vodka, you would assume it has a pretty rough start to it. However, the layers of Cranberry juice and Peach schnapps below it make for quite a pleasant chaser that has a nice sweet taste to it. One thing I also noticed about this shot is its quality can be influenced by the quality of Peach schnapps you use. I made one using Archers and one with a cheaper off brand Peach schnapps, the one with Archers was significantly better to drink.
Im a fan of layered shots and I find the look of this one particularly cool . It is red stripe in the middle third with the clear spirts around it reminds me of the shirt colours of the football team I support. Also, just in general the way the red floats and moves about without falling to the bottom layer makes for interesting viewing. So, if you enjoy sweet but sharp shots and love the aesthetics of a layered drink then the Detox shot may be one you want to try. Here is how it is made.
Ingredients
1/3 Peach schnapps
1/3 Cranberry juice
1/3 Vodka
Preparation
Add 1/3 of Peach schnapps into your shot glass.
Layer on top of that your 1/3 Cranberry juice.
Then layer on top of that 1/3 Vodka.
