Prep time : 2 minutes
Serves : 1
Strength : Moderate
The Sidecar is an all time classic cocktail, if you have never tried it then you have been missing out. It has got a nice balance of sour dry and fruity flavour that almost tastes like a fruity Whiskey Sour. For those that want to add a bit more to the fruity side of this drink the Cider Sidecar is a great choice and a perfect drink to enjoy over the Winter months.
Adding apple cider into this already flavourful cocktail brings more sweetness and takes the edge off the sharp dry nature of it. Depending on the type of apple cider you use making this will determine what preparation method you should use. When using carbonated cider, you should stir the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice then strain into your serving glass. If you can use flat or non-carbonated cider this drink can be shaken and poured into your serving glass.
It is a fairly simple change to the original recipe , but it is a change that makes a whole lot of difference depending on your preference on flavours. This drink takes apple cider to a new level and is well worth a try.
