Margaritas come in many shapes and flavours, so when you are tired of the original recipe it's great to try out some new combinations. For those who enjoy their Margaritas on the sweeter side, this Blueberry and Coconut variation is what you are looking for.


Using a good quality Tequila is so important in these kinds of cocktails as you want a clear fresh sharpness to match the extravagant fruity flavours you have added in. This can be a Silver , Reposado or Anjeo Tequila as long as it is a good product and 100 % Agave. Blueberry and Coconut go hand in hand very well, so it is easy to see this recipe being popular especially in those long hot Summer months.

Here is how it is made.









Blueberry Coconut Margarita Ingredients


 
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) Tequila

  • 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Lime juice

  • 1 oz. (30 ml) Cointreau or Triple Sec

  • 3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Cream of Coconut

  • Hand full of Blueberries


Garnish : Blueberry Skewer and Lime wheel

Rim : Salt







Preparation


 
  1. Salt the rim of a rocks glass using lime juice.

  2. Add Blueberries and Lime juice to a shaker and muddle well.

  3. Add in the Tequila,Cointreau and Cream of Coconut with ice.

  4. Shake well till chilled.

  5. Pour and strain into the rocks glass over a big ice cube.

  6. Garnish with a Blueberry Skewer and a Lime Wheel.
