Blue Jellyfish Shooter

On a list of cool looking shots and shooters, the Blue Jelly Fish is right up there with the best.

This shooter along with others like the Brian Haemorrhage went viral over the last few years, and since then many new recipes for shooters with a similar look have popped up. This may not be a shooter that will satisfy everyone in terms of the way it tastes , but if you are looking to impress friends or family with your drinks making abilities then this may be one that you can consider.

However, the Blue Jelly Fish does fall into that category of shooters made with the purpose of getting people drunk as the inclusion of Blue Curacao , Vodka and Sambuca will certainly test anyone’s tolerance. So, if you are searching for a cool looking shooter that will have you dancing the night away with your friends, then the Blue Jelly Fish may be for you. Here is how it is made.

Ingredients

  • 2.oz (60ml) Vodka

  • 1.oz (30ml) Blue Curacao

  • 1.oz (30ml) Sambuca

  • A drop of milk

Preparation

  1. Add Blue Curacao to the base of your shot glass

  2. Layer on top your Vodka using a bar spoon

  3. Layer on top of that your Sambuca

  4. Using a dropper add a drop of milk to the shot glass

Further Informtion

The original recipe did specify half and half milk, which I assumed was an American product as no such thing is available in the UK. So, any kind of milk should do in this recipe.

The recipe ingredient quantities are made for a 4 oz. (120ml) shot glass, in the example above I halved the quantities to fit a standard 2 oz. (60ml) shot glass. Feel free to adjust according to the shot glass you have available.

As stated, before there are many other recipes similar to this such as the Brain Haemorrhage which use spirits such as Irish cream to created that solid floating component in these kinds of shooters.

So look about if you are not a fan of this one, there may be others out there which may be more pleasant and not include sharp spirits such as Sambuca.
