Black Magic Margarita

Prepare to see the dark side of one of your favourite drinks. This is the Black Magic Margarita.

Halloween is all about the dark and the evil, this dark twist on a classic and popular Tequila cocktail fits in perfectly with the rest of the spooky season. There are a few changes from what most would consider the original Margarita recipe (check ours out to compare if you like) for example the glass of the original would usually be rimmed with salt , where as this version swaps that out for a sweeter black sanding sugar.

Also, the quantities of Tequila , Lime juice and Triple Sec are slightly different which make for a sourer Margarita which some people will like more than others. As we said in our original Margarita article, if you prefer a less sour or more sweet drink then adding in Agave Nectar or some sugar would be a possible option.

For the black colour of the drink you can use a combination of Red, Green and Blue food colourings, in our photo above we used Black food gel which worked just as well but required a bit more of a tough stir. This does not influence the flavour and as long as you stir well enough it will not leave behind any solid bits in the drink if you opt to use food gel.

This is defiantly a favourite of ours, both in the way it looks and tastes.

We are confident that if you made a few of these for a friend or for a Halloween party then it will be a night you will not soon forget. So, give it a go, and spread a little black magic! This is how it is made
