Prep time : 1 minute

Serves : 1

Strength : Moderate

Aperol is an Italian bitter Aperitif that has been around since 1919 but has had a big serge in popularity in the modern times. A big part of this is down to the Aperol Spritz which can now be found on many menus at cocktail bars around the world. It’s refreshing bitter fruity flavour has made it a favourite for many and a drink that is widely associated with summertime.

Aperol being composed of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, among other ingredients makes for a citrusy bitter flavour that is imposing but not quite as bitter as other Aperitifs such as Campari. This combined with the light crispness of Prosecco and the Soda water gives you a pleasant cocktail that you will want to sip on for a long time.
